2022 General Election

November 08, 2022

U.S. Senator

Candidate Info
Hello my fellow Arizonans. My name is Roxanne Rodriguez and I am asking for your vote in this very important upcoming 2022 election. A little about myself: I have a strong background in education in which I have taught for many years both in public and private schools and universities and have seen (bottom up) some of the greatest challenges our schooling system today faces. We are also confronted with a multitude of issues affecting our quality of life: from gun violence to drugs to skyrocketing inflation. I am therefore requesting your vote so that I can effect positive change. I look forward to serving your needs and will work very hard to try to improve the quality of life of all those I represent. I will be working on creating a campaign website for any comments or questions you may have. I will update that information once it is established. Thank you very much for your time and I hope to earn your vote. Best regards, Roxanne R. Rodriguez

I represent those who want to live in peace with their neighbors of all races and religions, despite what the media suggest. I represent those who demand to decide what is best for themselves and their families. I represent those who will no longer be silenced by those who hate our county, culture and rights. 1. Candidate Info
I’m Clint Smith, and I’m running for Congress. I’m a husband, a father and a grandfather. I’m an outdoorsman, a former Scoutmaster of a Boy Scout Troop, and an engaged citizen in the community. And for the past 35 years, I have been a small business owner in the East Valley - running my own independent law practice. I’ve worked with thousands of clients in my practice, helping people achieve peace of mind through greater financial security. I’m running as an Independent because this race is not about Republicans, Democrats, and the bitter partisanship they engage in that has so deeply divided us. This is about getting rid of the political games and getting back to civility. I believe we share more common values and daily struggles than we realize. We need a representative who is dealing with our rising cost of living, helping small business owners hire the workers they need to grow, and ensuring our families have good healthcare. It’s clear -- our representative government is out of balance right now. It’s time for renewed, independent leadership that will restore normalcy and stop the rancor.

I am an Arizonian born and raised! I embody the traditional American democratic values. I am a constitutional conservative & right wing democrat. I stand for the 2nd amendment & believe that gun policies need to be addressed from an educational stance & not a control stance. I worked in agriculture most of my life and am a small business owner from Tucson. Seeing the beauty of our great state as a boy has made me an environmentalist. Today politicians are disconnected from the people, changing districts, changing parties, trying to trick the people! I am fed up with the same old and I want to actually work on issues that can help regular Arizonans. We need to show the world how Americans conquer polarized incivility and move forward on issues we agree on! For ourselves, for a better America! We need to do better! Rise up for your rights! Write in David Bies for the 8th district. Write in BIES, DAVID 8th congressional district - Arizona

Unfortunately, no Democrat filed to run for Congress in the primary, so I am running as a write-in candidate for those Democrats and others who hate Trump Republicans and want to register a protest vote along with their votes for other Democrats. I am pro-choice and have helped women get abortions since I was a teenager in Brooklyn in the early 1970s. I have a B.A. and an M.F.A. from Brooklyn College, an M.A. in English from the College of Staten Island, and a J.D. with high honors from the University of Florida College of Law. The author of eight books of fiction and articles in the NY Times and other periodicals, I have taught at universities and colleges in New York, Florida, Arizona, New Jersey and California. I was a staff attorney in social policy at the Center for Governmental Responsibility in Gainesville and served on the board of directors of the Human Rights Council of North Central Florida. I've worked in many Democratic campaigns, starting in 1964 for LBJ, HHH & RFK. In 2014, I was the Democratic nominee for Congress in Wyoming. In my past races, I was endorsed by NOW and the UAW.
