To further my work on these causes, I humbly ask for your continued support on August 4, 2020.

I just finished my second term in the State Senate and also as the Majority Whip. I will continue to keep my focus on a balanced budget, a strong state economy, jobs, improving our schools, limiting the size and scope of government, protecting the taxpayers, and defending our Constitution. There is a non-stop battle between those on the left who want to grow our government, raise our taxes, and chip away at our freedoms – and those of us on the right who want to increase our freedoms by letting you keep more of what you earn and by keeping government out of your lives as much as possible. I will always be on the side of freedom. I was and will always be a US Marine, and I am also involved in doing what I can to help our veterans and to make Arizona a veteran-friendly state. Never hesitate to contact me if I can be of service to you, and thank you for the honor of getting to represent you in the State Senate.

I am running for the Arizona State Senate because I care about my community and will fight to make Arizona a better place to live, work, raise a family and retire. In addition to your representative since 2016, I am an environmental law professor and the proud mother of a TUSD student.
In Phoenix, I introduced legislation to fund our schools, teachers and staff, expand career and technical education, support families in need, promote clean energy and prevent the cycle of crime and poverty that is swelling our prisons.
I proudly received a 100% score from the Children’s Action Alliance, an A from the Sierra Club, and the Friend of Cities and Towns award from the League of Arizona Cities and Towns.
Arizona’s tradition of independence is more important than ever as we see the harmful impacts of the Trump Administration’s policies on our economy, people and environment. I will work alongside my colleagues to lead our country by example.
There’s so much more I want to do for our community. Thank you for your vote to return me to the legislature.

BRIDGING THE GAPS TOGETHER
Lynsey Robinson was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. She believes that immigrants are part of the fabric of America. Specifically, Haiti has a long history with the U.S., dating back to the Revolutionary War where Haiti fought alongside America to help it gain independence from Great Britain. Lynsey came to America at the age of eight and grew up in New York. As a former DREAMer, teacher and attorney she believes that education is essential for our children to fulfill their full potential and for America to remain competitive in the world.
Lynsey believes that public schools are underfunded and teachers are underpaid. She believes charter schools have a place in our communities, but transparency and accountability are essential to protect our children and the community. Lynsey believes that if Arizona families are to succeed, our public schools must receive appropriate funding to deal with the demands of our growing demographics. She supports the second amendment, but supports gun reform as a necessity for safe public education.
As the wife of an entrepreneur, Lynsey supports the growth of small and local businesses. She understands that a strong, robust business community supports families and keeps our district thriving.
State Senator - District No. 13 (REP)
It has been my honor to serve as your State Senator. While everyone campaigns as a conservative, I can offer my actual conservative record, which is pro-taxpayer, pro-family, pro-life, and pro-Constitution. My focus continues to be limiting the size of our government while ensuring that what it must do, it does as well as possible. My family owns and operates a 4th generation dairy farm in Buckeye and our Arizona roots are deep in the soil. I’m grateful for the support of so many in our district, both in Maricopa and Yuma County, and I’m hard at work on the various concerns we have, from water to transportation to classroom funding to school safety to lower taxes to border security to protecting our 2nd Amendment rights, I’m going to keep working on all of it. God has truly blessed our country and our state but it is our responsibility to protect them both. Arizona is a national leader in job growth, school choice, educational improvement, and regulatory freedom. I ask for your vote and I promise to continue my work as a reliable conservative.
State Senator - District No. 14 (REP)
I was honored to serve you in the State House for 8 years, where I was named Champion of the Taxpayer, Friend of the Family, earned an A+ from the NRA, turned our state’s budget deficit into a surplus, and helped turn Arizona into the #1 pro-life state, #1 pro-2nd Amendment state, and #1 pro-school choice state in the country, all while cutting regulations and growing jobs. As a result of my leadership I was elected House Majority Leader and ultimately elected Speaker of the House, giving rural and Southern Arizona real influence, and making myself a top target of the liberal media and their fake news. I returned to the private sector, and was asked to run for the State Senate to ensure we have a proven conservative looking after our district. You elected me in 2018 and I’m keeping my promises -- fighting the left, defending what’s right, and giving you my all, because I know how important the freedom of the people I’m fighting for are. On behalf of my wife, my kids, and every one of the great volunteers helping in this effort, I ask for your support so we can continue winning this fight together!
State Senator - District No. 14 (DEM)
I believe that democracy is best served by a vigorous discussion of the issues facing our state government. For too long opposing viewpoints are routinely ignored by our state elected officials. A strong multi-party system helps ensure that those in power are held accountable by the voters.
Arizona state government must Invest in public education that guarantees ALL students in Arizona outstanding schools, build a modern infrastructure; stop tax breaks to special interests; allow local governments to govern; support economic fairness; champion diversity and inclusion, create an environment for sustained economic growth that provides good jobs and good pay checks for workers in rural Arizona while protecting our precious natural resources and environment; protect a women’s right to choose; and ensure access to affordable comprehensive healthcare for all.
If elected, I will work hard as your state representative to be a voice for southeastern Arizona counties of Cochise, Greenlee, Graham and Pima.
I pledge to listen to everyone, respecting those that do not agree with me; representing all of you, ethically, honestly, effectively and professionally.
Republicans have controlled the state legislature for over three decades. It is time for new leadership in southeastern Arizona.
State Senator - District No. 15 (REP)
It is an honor to serve the constituents of District 15 in the legislature as a conservative fighter for your freedoms and values. My husband, Joe, and I grew up and raised our three daughters in the valley. As parents and now grandparents, business owners, and citizens, we've seen firsthand that freedom can't be taken for granted, it must be vigilantly defended. That's why we got involved. As a representative, protecting our individual liberties has been my primary goal. I have made it my job to look out for the individual - the person without a voice - and challenge the failures and injustices of entrenched government and other interests that diminish their freedom. District 15 needs limited and accountable government, secure borders, health care freedom, education that works for for every student, the freedom to peacefully live out your faith, and protection of every innocent life.
I am your conservative fighter with a record to prove it. I listen, I solve problems, and I will never compromise our values. This is an important moment for our district and for Arizona. I thank you for your support and I ask for your vote.
Senator Heather Carter is serving the constituents Legislative District 15, including north Phoenix, Scottsdale, Glendale and Cave Creek areas. During her tenure, Senator Carter has earned a reputation for applying conservative solutions to complex state issues including health care, education, public safety and the economy. Since being elected, she has sponsored and supported several key pieces of legislation that protected children, strengthened our communities, and bolstered our economy. She listens to her constituents and works hard to protect hard-working taxpayers. She and her husband live in North Phoenix and their daughter recently graduated from a local, public high school.
State Senator - District No. 16 (REP)
I’m very humbled that you have allowed me to represent you and I want you to know that I work hard on your behalf. This last term I was elected Majority Whip by my fellow Representatives and was honored to give our district a seat at the leadership table. I continue to vote for balanced budgets and policies to protect and create jobs, strengthen education, increase classroom funding and teacher pay, and find creative funding streams that bolster our economy while cutting taxes. I’ve protected your 2nd Amendment rights, defended the Constitution, protected the unborn, fought for border security, advocated for veteran's rights, fought Federal overreach, protected family values, cleaned up the Department of Child Safety, and more. I helped lead the effort to pass a Balanced Budget Amendment, I’ve won the Friend of the Family and Hero of the Taxpayer awards, fought to block ObamaCare, and opposed Common Core in favor of high education standards that come from Arizona parents and teachers. I want a smaller and more responsive government, greater liberty, a fiscally responsible state, a strong economy, respect for the rule of law, and stronger families. If you agree, I ask for your vote. Thank you!
State Senator - District No. 17 (REP)
During my time in office I’ve written laws that helped create jobs, cut red tape for our small businesses and entrepreneurs, helped employees get wages rightfully owed, directed more money into classrooms, protected survivors of domestic violence and sexual abuse, established safeguards to stop the financial exploitation of seniors, and promoted veteran-friendly college campuses. For these efforts I’ve won Guardian of Small Business, Champion of the Taxpayer, Friend of the Family, and Open Government Leader awards. I even had the honor of being elected Arizona Speaker of the House, where I crafted good balanced budgets that reduced tax burdens while increasing school funding. I personally sponsored the largest education investment in state history, dramatically boosting teacher pay 20%. As your current state senator, I wrote the bill authorizing more savings for the state’s rainy-day fund, which proved critical for this economic crisis, and pushed a resolution for greater border security. I’m asking for your vote to continue this important work. If reelected, I'll continue to keep an open door, put my constituents first, and use my diverse background that includes husband, father, professor and small business owner, with master's degrees in business and public administration, to deliver for you.

I am to proud to represent District 18 in the State Senate, covering Ahwatukee, west Chandler, southwest Mesa, and south Tempe. I grew up in our community and am a product of our local public schools. I was first elected in 2016 and am running for re-election in 2020.
During my time in the Senate, I've focused primarily on restoring education funding and working across party lines to govern in a bipartisan way for our community, and I have the record to prove it. I have supported pay raises for our teachers, supported our small business community, and passed legislation to support our schools.
I have received a number of awards during my time of service, including being named a Champion of Public Education by the Arizona Schools Boards Association, a Business Champion by the East Valley Chamber of Commerce, Champion for the Arts by the Arizona Citizens for the Arts, and a Tech Champion by the Arizona Technology Council.
In 2018, I was unanimously endorsed by the business community, our public safety community, and education organizations. I have a proven record of putting our community first, and will always work across party lines to get things done.

State Senator - District No. 20 (REP)
I’m honored to serve you. When I campaigned as a conservative I meant it. I’ve received the Guardian of Small Business; Friend of the Family; Hero of the Taxpayer and Champion of the Taxpayer awards, and an “A” rating from the American Conservative Union.
My priorities remain: protecting life, protecting taxpayers, job creation, improving education through increased classroom funding and increasing teacher pay, and keeping our children safe from online predators. This past legislative session, we’ve navigated our way through the health crisis by supporting small businesses, helped residents stay in their homes or apartments, and continued to fund schools and teachers during the shutdown, meanwhile protecting health and safety. I’ve supported efforts to secure our border (that means building a wall!), to stop ObamaCare, and to give parents a greater say in the education of their children.
I’m proud of endorsements I’ve received from former US Senator Jon Kyl, and groups like Arizona Right to Life, the NRA, the Fraternal Order of Police, and many others, but the endorsement I want the most is yours! Please visit my website to learn more and never hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or comments.

Residents of District 20 deserve a State Senator like Doug Ervin, who will listen to their needs, represent them honestly, and fight against the short-sightedness and partisanship that is unfortunately prevalent in politics. As an experienced accountant, corporate tax auditor, and financial systems architect, he possesses the knowledge necessary to critically analyze budgets and understand their true impact on our state’s economy. Moreover, exemplified through helping transform a small local business into an international firm, completing an Ironman triathlon, and tutoring 2nd-grade students in his free time, Doug understands the importance of hard work, perseverance, and patience. Doug is working to restore fiscal responsibility to our state legislature so all students receive a great education, people have access to quality, affordable healthcare and we make smart infrastructure investments - all of which will help grow our economy and create good-paying jobs.
The son of an Air Force Captain and Teacher of Nursing, Doug has called Arizona home since the age of three and enjoys backpacking, reading, and spending time with his family. He is grateful for your time and support. Vote Doug Ervin for State Senator.

When I married my wife I gained 3 awesome step-kids Alexis, Matthew (yes a second Matthew) and Elliot.
I have been in the Security Industry for over 20 years. I have managed small companies up to companies with over 500 employees. I also was the owner of my own security agency for 10 years and understand the hardships small businesses face in today's economy.
I am also an NRA Certified Instructor and am a strong supporter of the Second Amendment and believe in teaching gun safety.
I want to make Arizona great for my kids and a place they too are excited to live in and being the "Average Joe" I believe I am the man for the job. Help me make Arizona the greatest state for our kids and grand-kids.

It was just a few years ago that you elected me to State House and now as your State Senator. I wanted to serve this great state and look after the taxpayers and families that live here. What a journey it has been. I have been honored to serve as Chairman Transportation Committee, I was elected Majority Whip by my peers, and this year I was asked to step up as Chairman of the Appropriations Committee and guide our state’s budget to passage. Still, I remember that my mission is to serve you all and so I continue to focus on improving our economy and attracting jobs, strengthening the family unit, protecting our state’s sovereignty, and restoring our Constitutional rights. I advocate for secure borders and I have a 100% pro-life and pro-2nd Amendment record. I have earned both the “Friend of the Family” award and the “Hero of the Taxpayer” award. I work for you and I promise to reward your support with a continued commitment to limited government and effective representation. I am running as a team with Ben Toma and Frank Carroll and know them to be outstanding conservatives as well. We ask for your vote!

My purpose in running for office is to promote the security and prosperity of this state, to seek the liberty, well-being and dignity of its citizens, and last but not least, to uphold and defend the Constitution, without which tyranny will destroy this great country. I am also unashamedly Christian, seeking to defend freedom of religion and the sanctity of human life from conception to natural death.

I’m running for senate for a simple reason – I love Arizona. This state, and all of you, have given me so much. It’s here that I was raised, met my wife, and built a business. I was educated in Arizona public schools and I’ve made a home here with you in beautiful Scottsdale.
Arizona is special because Arizona is free. Starting a business fresh out of school is hard enough: I could have never done it in a state that put unnecessary obstacles in the path of entrepreneurs. Buying a home is tough enough: I could have never done it in a place where the government makes it hard to build housing and taxes property to the hilt.
I know that so many of you have similar stories. That so many of you have done things that nobody thought possible and share my same love for this place we call home. Every day I am inspired by my friends and neighbors in legislative district 23. You have so much to be proud of. You deserve a senator you can be proud of too. I would be deeply humbled by your support.
Ugenti-Rita, Michelle (REP)
During the last eight years in the House of Representatives, I have build a conservative record voters can rely on. I have also been a leading proponent of policies that help Arizona remain a great place to visit, work and live. As your next State Senator, I will continue to do what I have always done - champion the conservative principles important to you and your family.

For the past ten years I have represented LD 24 in the Arizona Legislature, eight years in the House and currently two years in the Senate. It would be my honor to continue to serve as the Arizona State Senator for LD 24 in the 55th Legislature. Throughout my career as a lawmaker, I have championed our public schools and universities, advocated on behalf of our most vulnerable communities, and worked to find common ground with my colleagues and pragmatic solutions to the challenges confronting our state.
Accessible and affordable public education that prepares Arizona's young people for 21st Century careers, improving the lives of children and families, working in support of housing for the homeless and low-income families, and defending the civil rights of all of Arizona's citizens will continue to be my priorities, should I be re-elected to represent LD 24 in the Arizona State Senate.
A native Arizonan and the proud product of our public-school system, from kindergarten to graduate school, I believe in the potential of our young people and Arizona, which is why I will continue working for the people of our great state as LD 24's State Senator.
Ryan Starzyk is a proven business and community leader with a substantial background in management, analysis, research, and strategic planning. From 2003-2007, Ryan served honorably in the United States Air Force and was decorated for meritorious service while on deployment in Iraq as a part of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Following his military service, Ryan transitioned to a successful career in business leadership, serving as a legal analyst, researcher, and compliance advisor for large-scale corporations. No stranger to community service, Ryan currently serves on the board of directors of Phoenix Pride, and he is a longtime advocate for LGBTQ & Women’s rights. He has been a vocal supporter of repealing Arizona laws that seek to further stigmatize already marginalized communities, and a proponent of strong policies that seek to ensure that the rights and equity of all individuals are protected at the local, state and federal level. Ryan resides in Central Phoenix with his partner of over 12 years and is active in his local neighborhood and community. Ryan is ready to work across the aisle and continue fighting for LD24 in the State Senate with fresh policy perspectives, and long-overdue new age thinking.

I am a native Arizonan, Latina, proud USAF Veteran, ASU alumna, Public Health Professional, mom, wife, neighbor, advocate, organizer, Secretary of ADP Veterans Caucus, PC, State Committee Person, and public official serving on two commissions for the City of Tempe.
For over 25 years, I have lived in Tempe with my spouse. Together we have made a home, seen the birth of our child and the death of our parents all while earning a living and contributing to our community. Except while serving in the military, I have lived in the “Valley of the Sun” all of my life.
I joined the military after a family tragedy that launched me into a course of service that is reflected in who I am today. I have worked a lifetime in service to my country and Arizona. I had many roles while working, some of my favorites were: staff-sergeant, teacher, facilitator, planner, advocate and community liaison.
Today I am called upon to serve again and would like the role as your state senator. Prioritizing your voice; protecting democracy, the vulnerable & environment while investing in health, education & workforce are all key to our future. I respectfully ask for your support.
Juan Mendez is a first generation Chicano and native Arizonan. Having lived across Maricopa County he attended Tolleson Union High School, received his associate degree from Phoenix College, then graduated with a B.A. in Political Science and a minor in Justice Studies from ASU’s Tempe Campus.
Juan’s passion for politics and social justice is reflected in his commitment to building strong communities. Juan first started serving on the City of Phoenix Human Services Advisory Committee working with fellow community leaders to recommend improvements to local senior and family service centers and programs for the homeless. He then went on to manage the nonprofit Community Voice Mail, where he connected thousands of people living in poverty, transition and homelessness to jobs, housing, information and hope. Juan then served on the Tempe Community Council, as a planner, advocate and resource to improve the funding and policies affecting human services in Tempe and the surrounding communities. Outside of the legislature Juan served as a substitute teacher for Tempe and Mesa High Schools.
Elected to the State House in 2012 and now a State Senator, Juan sits on the Transportation and Government Committees and is elected chair of the Arizona Legislative Latino Caucus.
State Senator - District No. 27 (REP)
I want to improve the lives of those who live in our district regardless of political labels, economic status or backgrounds. I grew up poor in south Phoenix in a multi-cultural home, the youngest of 9 children.
People are afraid to walk in the parks or neighborhoods, cars stolen, homes burglarized, business robbed, and citizens murdered. This district and the victims of these crimes deserve a Senator who will do something about the crime rate. The crime rate has a direct impact on economic development. Higher paying employers will not come until the crime rate is brought under control. Reducing crime will reduce auto and homeowner’s insurance and increase home values.
I will protect your right to send your child to a traditional public school, a public charter school, in home school or school out of our district. The current incumbent doesn’t support your right of school choice.
Criminal justice reform, mental illness, homelessness, water, education and poor internet service are some of the issues.
I owned businesses and want to create opportunities that lift people out of poverty.
Join me in making a better safer caring community.

Judy Burges has remained a true un-apologetic “Constitutional Conservative” throughout her years of service in the legislature. She considers herself a “WE THE PEOPLE” Christian candidate that has a proven history supporting Constitutional freedoms such as: the 2nd Amendment, less government, lower taxes, border security, state sovereignty, free speech, school choice, pro-family values, and one’s right-to-life. President Reagan clearly stated “Freedom is a fragile thing and is never more than one generation from extinction. It is not ours by inheritance; it must be fought for and defended constantly by each generation, for it comes only once to a people. Those who have known freedom, and then lost it, have never known it again.”

From an early age I was a Republican, declaring at age 3 that Hillary Clinton was a witch and proudly exclaiming that Newt Gingrich was the Speaker of the House. That always shocked quite a few people, but as a fourth generation Republican activist I've always felt that it's just in my blood.
After graduating from Prescott High School and earning my Eagle Scout Award, I attended Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University where I received my degree in Global Security and Intelligence Studies. While there I joined the College Republicans eventually serving as President. I also served as the Vice-Chairman and Chairman of the Arizona Federation of College Republicans.
I've been involved in local politics for more than 10 years. I volunteered for my first campaign during the 2008 Presidential Election and have volunteered or worked on more than a dozen campaigns since. I've also worked as a Field Director for the Arizona Republican Party as well as for the Martha McSally for Senate Campaign.

State Representative - District No. 2 (REP)
As an elected representative, it is one’s duty to: protect your constitutional rights, represent local district interests, and to scrutinize the work of government for accountability as part of checks and balance. A representative can also draft, introduce and vote on legislation.
It is NOT a representative’s sole duty to raise revenue through taxes or seek federal subsidies that indebt our state. However, some do because it is easier than finding solutions to problems such as education funding, employment availability, healthcare, poverty and hunger.
For too long, representatives have believed their duty is to introduce legislation and make more rules and regulations which restrict your freedoms and create debt. It’s not a contest of who passes the most legislation or who gets the most community awards.
Representatives are defenders of your civil rights and guardians of constitutional rights for every American. As a Conservative and Constitutional Republican, I will defend the right of every child to have school choice, for Americans to freely practice their choice of religion and follow their convictions. I support our veterans, law enforcement and strong border control. I support fair trade and immigration policies that keep families safe and together.

Dalessandro, Andrea (DEM)
Andrea Dalessandro has taught elementary, high school, community college and university for over 25 years. She is also a retired CPA. Since 2008 she has run for the legislature to fight the systemic defunding of public education. She is grateful to the Red for ED movement and that educators and their supporters from around the state witnessed an informative civics lesson. She serves as the Ranking Member of the Senate Education (K-12) Committee. She was one of only two legislators to receive an A+ on the Grand Canyon Chapter of Sierra Club’s Report Club in 2018. She is the State Lead for the National Caucus of Environmental Legislators. When the Corporation Commission has meetings in Tucson you can count on her being there to fight for solar and the good paying jobs that the solar industry generates. Senator Dalessandro was named Legislator of the Year by the Arizona Association of Community Health Centers after being nominated by Mariposa Health Center in Santa Cruz County. She has been a tireless advocate for restoring Cherrybell Mail Processing Center in Tucson to full operational status. Send Andrea Dalessandro back to House to represent you with her strong voice and her experience.
Hernandez, Daniel, Jr. (DEM)
Daniel Hernandez Jr., a native Arizonan, Democrat, and State Representative covering Southeast Pima County and all of Santa Cruz County. He currently serves on the Public Safety and State and International Affairs committee and is Co-Founder of the LGBT Caucus.
He is an award winning legislator running for reelection in 2020 for his third term to the AZ State House. He also was awarded the Barbara Jordan Progressive Leadership Award for his work in Arizona from the People for the American Way. Also the Jack Jewett Award Public Service Award winner from Arizona Center for Civic Leadership.
In 2011, while working in the office of Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, Hernandez took actions on January 8th with which he is credited with saving her life. That day and the aftermath drove him to advocate for Gun Violence Prevention at the state and national level, which he does to this day. He also served as a member of the Sunnyside School District Governing board from 2011-2019.
Daniel wants to keep fighting for southern Arizona to expand access to healthcare, education, and economic opportunities for all in LD2.
I was raised in Nogales, Arizona and had the privilege of attending K through 12 in this culturally diverse border city. My childhood hero was my grandfather, Bonifacio Bojorquez, who was born in Nogales, Arizona in 1889. My PapaGrande always said that hard work not only humbles you, but it also keeps you hungry, to this day I believe he meant this in both the literal and figurative sense. In 1989 I enlisted in the United States Army and then went on to complete mechanized infantry training in Fort Benning, Georgia. In 1991 I was awarded a Combat Infantry Badge after serving in the middle east during Operation Desert Storm. Upon receiving an Honorable Discharge I came home to Arizona, graduated from the University of Arizona in 1995 and ASU College of Law in 1999. Thereafter I served as a Tucson Public Defender, Santa Cruz County Chief Civil County Attorney, and Nogales City Attorney. Since 2009 I have worked in my own law firm in Nogales, Arizona specializing in immigration and international business. I stand ready to serve the diverse community of southern Arizona as a State Legislator during these trying times.
Billy Peard grew up on the edge of the middle class in Southern Arizona. His earliest memory is the sound of air compressors at the auto shops where Billy’s dad used to work.
Billy went to Arizona public schools when we ranked 34th in the nation in funding. Today, we’re 46th.
At age 15, Billy was nominated to serve as a high school intern in Washington, DC. Nine days after arriving to Washington, Billy stared at the television monitors as Flight 175 struck the World Trade Center.
In April 2010, Billy was living in the East Coast while his home state embarrassed itself on the international stage. Arizona had enacted SB 1070, a law requiring local police to check a motorists’ immigration status. Billy enrolled in law school later that year, inspired to work against the national anti-immigrant trend sparked by his home state.
Following law school, Billy worked as an employment lawyer and immigration lawyer in nonprofit legal aid organizations.
In early 2017, Billy moved back home to contribute to local efforts to hold the current President accountable. From 2017 to 2019, Billy was a staff attorney for the American Civil Liberties Union of Arizona.

Andrés Cano, a lifelong Democrat, was elected to the Arizona State House of Representatives in 2018. He is asking for your vote of confidence once again in 2020.
Raised by a single mom, Andrés saw a path for advancement in Arizona’s public schools, becoming the first in his family to graduate from college. He has spent the last 10 years working to advance equity, fairness, and opportunity for Southern Arizonans from all walks of life.
Andrés, a sixth generation Arizonan, vowed to serve his community as a young child after witnessing his grandmother succumb to an occupational lung disease. Andrés got his first summer job with Pima County at age 14. Six years later, he returned from college to serve as an aide to Pima County Supervisor Richard Elías, becoming the youngest policy advisor in County government.
In 2016, the Center for the Future of Arizona named Andrés its 'Emerging Leader.' The award is given to a public servant who has the potential to have an impact on Arizona's future for generations to come. Andrés became the first Latino, and the youngest, awardee in the organization's history.
State Representative - District No. 4 (REP)
I’m Joel John, candidate for the Arizona House of Representatives in Legislative District 4. District 4 needs a representative who will prioritize your interests, someone with deep roots in the district. Our economy is powered by both small businesses and agriculture. We have unique education needs and hardworking people. It should be easier to run a small business and produce crops in our state. I will work to eliminate unnecessary roadblocks so our district’s economy can grow. Our kids are top priority. I grew up attending our public schools in District 4, my kids attend public schools, and I'm a former public school teacher. We should have the best schools in the state right here in District 4. I will give you a voice in your child’s education by returning more control to the local school districts where it belongs. Finally, I will protect our constitutional freedoms. I believe in our right to defend ourselves, the right to life, free speech, and religious freedom. As a husband, father of four, fourth generation Arizonan from a farming family, and CEO of a small agricultural irrigation business, I’m uniquely qualified to represent you. I look forward to serving you.

Fernandez, Charlene (DEM)
Charlene started her career in public service opening Congressman Ed Pastor’s Yuma office, and later serving in Congressman Raul Grijalva and Governor Janet Napolitano’s offices. She also served for 12 years on the Yuma Union High School Board.
After her 2014 election to the Arizona House of Representatives, Charlene’s been one of the legislature's strongest advocates for public education, frequently pushing for more teacher and classroom funding from her position on the appropriations committee and as the House Democratic Caucus Leader. Her leadership was integral to the Drought Contingency Plan agreement in 2018, bringing states, tribal nations, farmers, and other Arizona stakeholders together to ensure a sustainable water supply for the state.
Charlene has also championed quality healthcare by promoting affordable drug prices and opposing junk insurance plans. She’s supported high wages for workers through the minimum wage that has been credited for recent income growth in Arizona. She’s sponsored gun safety legislation to address the crisis of shootings. Additionally, she’s prioritized protecting our environment and addressing climate change for future generations.
Charlene hopes to earn your support in her 2020 re-election to represent your voice at the Arizona Legislature. Please vote for Charlene Fernandez for Arizona House of Representatives!
Peten, Geraldine "Gerae" (DEM)
With 30 years of experience in education, rising from teacher to superintendent to construction supervisor to consultant, I have much to contribute to Arizona’s educational crisis. Having a Doctorate in Education - Curriculum and Instruction; along with a Master of Science, Construction Management; a Master of Arts, Supervision and Administration; and Bachelor of Arts, Vocational Education means that I can relate to the struggles of the unskilled worker or the college graduate, the administrator wrestling a budget or the electrician wrestling with new city codes; the management of people and the management of materials. With a lifetime of experience, now is the time to capitalize on my experience and credentials to benefit the community. My top priorities are education; quality of life such as democratic participation, access to health care, a safe and clean environment, living wage jobs, and affordable housing; and reducing mass incarceration so that Arizona is Number One in Education not Incarceration. I bring my most important values of honesty and integrity to the issues in my district: water policy, roads and infrastructure, and stable employment. I currently serve on the Land, Agriculture and Rural Affairs and Transportation committees in the House.
State Representative - District No. 5 (REP)
Leo Biasiucci was born and raised in Lake Havasu City, Arizona and has been an Arizona resident for over 30 years. After receiving his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Management from The University of Arizona, Leo came back to Lake Havasu to help run the family business, Mohave Traffic School.
In 2016, Leo decided that he was ready to give back to his community. He became an active member of The Lake Havasu Men’s Republican Club, The Conservative Republican Club, The Kingman Republican Forum, and he is also an appointed Republican PC. He is a proud member of the NRA and was previously on the Lake Havasu Parks and Recreation Board, and on the Lake Havasu Planning and Zoning Commission.
After spending numerous days attending legislative sessions in Phoenix, Leo recognized the importance of having state legislators in office who will fight for rural Arizona. This is one of the many reasons why he's running for a seat in the Arizona House. He understands the importance of being a team player with fellow Republicans, being fiscally responsible, and following the constitution. Most importantly, he'll never stop fighting for your freedoms
I moved to Kingman after graduating from dental school in 1993. I have raised 2 daughters in Kingman and I am proud to be part of our community. Having served as the President of the Kingman Chamber of Commerce and running my own small business, I understand the daily struggles of government regulation and the burden of over taxation.
I am proud to serve as your State Representative. From tackling critical issues like lowering our state income tax to responsibly investing in our local schools and infrastructure, I believe government is like your tax bill: the smaller the better.
Join me in protecting our great state by keeping our communities safe and standing up for our Constitutional rights.
State Representative - District No. 6 (REP)
The Rim country needs a strong advocate at the legislature where our concerns as rural Arizonans are easily lost in the shuffle. I’m proud to have served you in the state legislature and hope that my hard work has earned me your continued support. I love being able to have effected positive change for our district and our state.
The hard work has paid off as more and more companies choose Arizona as the place to relocate. I have enjoyed working to secure additional funding for our local community colleges; taking care of our veterans; helping our first responders; funding our transportation/infrastructure needs.
I served as Chairman of Land, Agriculture, Rural Affairs committee; Vice-Chairman of Energy, Environment and Natural Resources committee; Chairman of Rural Caucus. I will continue to defend our constitutional rights, our state sovereignty, and traditional family values. Thank you for your continued support and allowing me to serve.

State Representative - District No. 6 (DEM)
My family has lived in Northern Arizona for four generations. My grandfather moved his family to Flagstaff in the 1940s to work as a lumberjack. I still live here with my daughter in the house he built.
I first ran for office because the local government wasn’t listening to the people they represented, and for the last 12 years I’ve had the great pleasure of public service.
I’ve seen people come together to support each other, to support our schools, churches, and institutions, and to create home-grown solutions to local issues. Together, we brought a Veteran’s Home to Flagstaff, helped incubate small businesses, funded after school care, and expanded library hours.
I’ve seen education funding in Arizona fall to 49th place. I’ve seen small business owners fight obstacles to bring their dreams to fruition. I’ve seen the legislature pass legislation that prevents communities from solving their own problems.
This is why I’m running for the Arizona State House. Our families deserve quality schools. Our small businesses need support to help them grow. Our cities and towns need the freedom to make their own decisions.
Together we can preserve the spirit and character of rural Arizona—because we, too, are Arizona!

State Representative - District No. 8 (REP)
Neal Carter is a conservative Republican who believes in the values of the Constitution. Faith, family and a free economy are the founding principles that have made Arizona prosper and take its place as the best state to live and work in. Neal believes in an Arizona where jobs are plentiful and opportunity reigns. As a small business owner, Neal has brought money into the state and expanded the local economy. As a lawyer, Neal has fought for the values enshrined in the Constitution: power to the citizenry, limited government, and the Bill of Rights. As a citizen, Neal embodies the value of giving others a hand up, not a hand out: serving both on local civic committees and volunteering for ministerial outreach programs for the needy. Mr. Carter would be honored to serve all Arizonans as your voice in the State House for common-sense, fiscally-responsible solutions to Arizona's challenges with education, infrastructure, transit, and security. Vote for a candidate committed to expanding economic opportunity, bolstering educational opportunities, limiting government interference and expanding freedom for all Arizonans, old and young.
I’m in my second term and I'm keeping my promises -- to be a strong voice for rural Arizona, to protect taxpayers and keep our budget balanced, to increase school funding and teacher pay, and to improve our transportation and water infrastructure. I've kept those promises and many others. As the only rancher in the legislature, I’m involved in lots of issues dealing with the ranching, agriculture, and farming communities in our state. I have a pro-Constitution, pro-family values, and pro-taxpayer voting record because I know that preserving and expanding freedom is my most solemn responsibility. My record is 100% pro-2nd Amendment, 100% pro-Life, and 100% pro-Taxpayer. And I continue to fight to ensure we get our share of funding for projects like the Tonto Bridge, often over the objections of Maricopa County legislators. There are too many politicians at the State Capitol and not enough of us regular folks who do the jobs that make Arizona work. I'll keep working my tail off to do the very best I can for you and I ask for your vote. On behalf of my awesome wife Diana and our amazing kids, thank you for your support and your continued trust!
It has been my privilege to represent you in the Arizona State Legislature. I have lived in Arizona my entire life and have operated a farm and small business for many years. My wife is an educator. My son was born and raised here; the grandchildren live here too. In meetings with thousands of ordinary people in our district, they have told me about their concerns and I take them very seriously. Three issues have repeated come up - education, jobs, and public safety. I have made working on these issues my number one priority at the legislature. I will continue to work to make our communities safe through adequate police and fire protection, continue my efforts to improve educational opportunities for all and to get better teacher pay and more resources into the classroom. I have received a lot of recognition for playing an important role in putting policies in place that attract jobs to rural Arizona. I will continue to work for policies to create more and better jobs. You have my word that l will always put you and your family first in the State Legislature. I would be honored to receive your vote.
State Representative - District No. 8 (DEM)
I practiced medicine for 30 years as a Physician Assistant. I worked most of my career in rural, underserved communities like the ones I hope to represent. My patients were migrants who worked the field or pregnant teens who were scared and needed support. In emergency rooms I saw patients who could not afford their insulin nor see a dentist. I saw how hard working people struggled to afford and access the care they needed. After I retired I knew, that as a state legislator, I could still make a difference in the lives of people in my district and state. Arizona needs legislators who understand the complex world of healthcare and can speak with authority, make pragmatic decisions and craft laws that will benefit children, families and people in need. Government should serve the people ,not just big business or give special interest tax breaks. I will work for fully funded public education, Charter school reform, job training programs, a living wage for everyone, equal rights, and the healthcare everyone needs..
State Representative - District No. 9 (REP)
Brendan Lyons is an energetic and results driven candidate. Over the past decade, he’s earned a positive reputation as a community leader and has developed a track record of winning quality of life improvements for Arizona.
His journey into public service began when he fulfilled his childhood dream of becoming a firefighter. As a public safety advocate, he became concerned about distracted driving after responding to far too many crashes. In 2012, he launched “LOOK! Save A Life” in Southern Arizona, which fosters an environment of safety for all who utilize our public roads.
A year later, he became a statistic of the very message he was advocating; struck from behind by a distracted motorist while bicycling. As he recovered, he threw himself into fighting for tougher laws against distracted driving, putting pressure on local jurisdictions throughout the state to adopt policies to make our roads safer. Then in April 2019, Governor Ducey signed Arizona’s Hands-Free bill into law. Brendan holds a Masters in Public Administration focusing in Collaborative Governance.
Southern Arizona deserves a brilliant future and Brendan Lyons will continue to be a results-driven leader who works across party lines to deliver on issues that we all care about.

Friese, Randall "Randy" (DEM)
I have had the honor to serve as State Representative for LD 9 since 2015. I am also a physician, surgeon and professor of surgery at the University of Arizona College of Medicine, right here in Tucson.
As a legislator I believe it is the state’s responsibility to ensure the core values of equality, opportunity (including equality of opportunity), and safety are reflected in its actions. During my tenure at the legislature I have worked to support appropriate funding for Arizona public schools. I will continue to make appropriate funding and support for our public schools a priority if re-elected in 2020. I also stand for a woman’s right to make her own healthcare decisions, responsible gun safety legislation, access to quality healthcare, the ability of cities and towns to self-govern without undue preemption from the state, the protection of our environment and natural resources, ensuring that exercising the right to vote is not restricted, and supporting infrastructure in Arizona (roads/highways/railways, technology growth, water conservation, as well as K-12 education and our Universities).
I believe that by supporting and growing Arizona infrastructure, small businesses will prosper and corporations will expand in Arizona creating job growth and a robust economy.
Powers Hannley, Pamela (DEM)
I am running for re-election to the Arizona House of Representatives. Many times on the floor of the House, I have stood up for the rights of women, children, workers, teachers, patients, small business owners and everyday folks. As a Progressive Democrat, my platform is based on investing our tax dollars in the People's To-Do List: education, infrastructure, healthcare, and safety and security-- instead of giving tax dollars away in tax cuts for corporations and special interest groups. I believe in equity for all, and I back ratification of the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA). As a Mom and a Grandma, I want to strengthen Arizona families by focusing public health efforts on improving maternal and child health. As a former small business owner, I believe that economic development efforts should focus on helping local small business owners and entrepreneurs develop their ideas and grow their businesses. My background is in communications, medical research, public health, and management. I have a BA in Journalism from Ohio State University and a Masters in Public Health from the University of Arizona. I live in Midtown Tucson with my husband Jim. Please vote to send me back to the House in 2020.

All Americans should be free to live their lives and pursue their interests as they see fit as long as they do no harm to another.
State Representative - District No. 10 (REP)
My name is Mabelle Gummere and I humbly ask for your vote for House of Representatives in LD10. Tucson is my home, where I raised my son, sold homes to families, and then built and ran a small business. I work hard, solve problems, and know the meaning of value in our lives. Our children’s education is a quagmire that is ridiculous and unacceptable. The value of owning a home is simply unquestionable. Government regulations should never bind our teachers and parents or our ability to build and own a home, and now they do. Police and Military must be fully funded for our safety. I am running because I love Tucson and I love people and will always be available to talk and listen to you.
I remember one of the happiest days of my mother’s life was the day she received her citizenship. Her belief that anything is possible with hard work and dedication inspired me to become anything I wanted to be. I want to be your LD10 Representative and am asking for your vote. Taking the oath to represent you, as a first generation American, will be one of the happiest days in my life!
