This year has been turbulent for our country and communities, and I felt compelled to run in my local government to lend my hand in shaping the future of Arizona. I will focus my efforts on a balanced budget created by conservative spending, environmental conservation to keep Arizona beautiful, continued job growth, making sure Arizona's children have access to education, food, and healthcare, protecting the taxpayers by limiting wasteful spending, and ultimately ensuring that the citizens of this state have their voices heard and an economy and government that works for them. I was raised in Arizona by a single mother, I know the struggles that the average citizen faces. I was a first generation university graduate, taught middle school, and now work in market research. I am not swayed by party lines, my priority will be to ensure Arizona citizen's rights are protected and that all representatives are able to work together for the best outcome for the people of this state. I believe in government transparency and voter's access to information. The people's voice is the ultimate indicator of where a nation should head. Please reach out to discuss issues that important to you.

Unfortunately, no Democrat filed to run for State Senator in the primary, so I am running as a write-in candidate for those Democrats and others who hate Trump Republicans and want to register a protest vote along with their votes for Joe Biden, Mark Kelly and other Democrats. I have a B.A. and an M.F.A. from Brooklyn College; an M.A. in English from the College of Staten Island; and a J.D. with high honors from the University of Florida College of Law. The author of eight books of fiction and articles in the New York Times and other periodicals, I have taught at numerous universities and colleges in New York, Florida, Arizona, New Jersey and California. I was a staff attorney in social policy at the Center for Governmental Responsibility in Gainesville and served on the board of directors of the Human Rights Council of North Central Florida. I've worked in many Democratic campaigns, starting in 1964 for LBJ, HHH & RFK. In 2014, I was the Democratic nominee for Congress in Wyoming. In my past races, I was endorsed by NOW PAC and the UAW. I work at Central Arizona College and belong to East Valley NAACP.

I’m an Arizona native. The first 19 years, I grew up in Glendale, Az. I went to Pioneer Elementary and graduated from Cactus H.S. After graduation, I joined the United States Air Force as a Security Policeman. For 20 years, I was stationed at 6 different bases and had 9 deployments to the Middle East. I’m now starting my political career as the Libertarian candidate for LD 29 State Senator. - Education Education is best provided by the free market, achieving greater quality, accountability, and efficiency with more diversity of choice. Parents should have control of and responsibility for all funds expended for their children’s education. - Health Care We favor a free market health care system. - Expression and Communication We support full freedom of expression and oppose government censorship, regulation, or control of communications media and technology. - Crime and Justice We favor the repeal of all laws creating “crimes” without victims, such as gambling, the use of drugs for medicinal or recreational purposes. With 15 years of County and local government elected experience, I am an innovative, independent and dynamic leader. I bring a strong work ethic, a small business owner's perspective and a fundamental belief we should all play by the same set of rules regardless of access to money, power or political influence. I don't accept any corporate PAC or dark money. I'm an Independent because I believe the politics of problem solving is increasingly being lost to the politics of rigid partisan ideology. The tax payers who pay our salaries expect us to focus on solving problems and creating opportunities, not playing rigid partisan political games. As a practical small business owner, I understand the best ideas are not constrained to a single party or ideology. People are justifiably frustrated with dysfunctional partisan politics. I build alliances and support smart, strategic ideas - regardless of whether they come from a Republican, Democrat, Libertarian or Independent. I support rigorous fiscal management and policies that strengthen families, small businesses and communities of northern Arizona. Art Babbott for the Arizona House of Representatives. Independent..like Arizona!

The coronavirus catastrophe has proven itself a direct result of incompetent leadership across the board during this unprecedented crisis. The majority of those that lead us in our federal, state and local government have failed us, presenting weak division in determining the right course of action when we need strength in unity. Our leadership lacks even the basic knowledge of how to mitigate and contain an outbreak or public health crisis. Now is the time for action and leadership from all levels of government. This crisis has exposed holes in our democracy that need to be filled with tested leaders, ready for any scenario. I am prepared to take that charge and provide my much needed military leadership experience to our great state.
