As the son of public school teachers, he has fought to increase teacher pay and reduce class sizes to ensure every Arizonan has access to a first-class education. Steve in his legislative career has worked across the aisle to create good paying jobs, provide affordable healthcare, ensure exemplary public safety, and bring world-class transportation choices to Arizona. Steve is a 55-year-old small-business owner and father of Amelia, 23, and Genevieve, 19. He is engaged to Kitt Leonard, a Tempe native who works in IT at Tucson Medical Center. David Garcia is from us… and for us. His dad was a commercial painter and Vietnam-era veteran and his mother juggled parenting with a job at an electronics factory. At 17, he enlisted in the U.S. Army. His time as an infantryman instilled values that guide his life to this day: discipline, accountability and duty. David has committed his career to improving Arizona public schools. David is a professor in the Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College at ASU mentoring Arizona's next generation of leaders. His strengths include public policy, serving as a research analyst for the state senate and leading the Arizona Department of Education as associate superintendent. He is known for answering tough questions and developing visionary solutions. These traits have earned respect and accolades from people on both sides of the political aisle. Arizona is being held back because our leadership is not committed to creating an excellent public education system. Arizona’s failed commitment to public education is hurting our economy and tarnishing our image. David is the right person to address Arizona’s greatest challenges. David married his high school sweetheart, Lori, a fellow Mesa High Jackrabbit. Together, they have two beautiful daughters who attend public schools.

Barry Hess is the Governor Arizona needs to take us forward, and out of the rut we've been in since Napolitano's reign. He is the only real, principle-driven libertarian candidate. He is above party politics and instead chooses to run on the principles he will apply in office. This is the 5th time that Mr. Hess has offered his gifts to serve the People of Arizona. He knows the players, and how things really work behind closed doors in our State. Barry has earned the respect of all parties and politicians in Arizona by making clear statements, and being the only candidate in the running to have never 'flip-flopped' on an issue. He believes that the State's sole purpose is to protect the rights and property of all of Arizona's citizens equally, and is committed to drastically cutting the budget; getting the State out of matters where it has no constitutional authority; solving the 'immigration' debate; holding the State accountable for damages from overreach; stabilizing Arizona's economy; completely de-criminalizing marijuana; and is dedicated to eliminating ALL direct taxation (i.e. personal income and property taxes) and filing requirements for ALL Arizonans.

I am an executive, educator, entrepreneur, and author. I am proud to be the only candidate who is ready to tackle Arizona’s biggest challenge: partisanship. Progress on education reform, immigration reform, health care reform, tax reform, and other important issues cannot be achieved unless we first reduce partisanship in our politics. Today, many people seem to want our leaders to fail; not because they disagree with their policies, but because they have the wrong label. We need loyal leadership that stands beside the people and doesn’t shift alliances with every political wind or negative news cycle. Too many people want to get more out of the system than they put in. We need a leader who understands and honors our sacred history and traditions. We need a leader who stands up to the bullies and speaks for those without a strong voice, especially our children. At this crucial moment in Arizona’s history, I am the leader that has the right priorities for a prosperous, rewarding future.

My name is Angel Torres, and I'm seeking the Green Party's nomination for Governor in the August 28, 2018 Primary Election. I graduated from Arizona State University in 1986 with a Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Communication, and have worked in the airline industry for the past 31 years. I'm a member and union steward for Teamsters Local 104. I have been a registered Green Party voter for 26 years, and have served as the state chairperson of the Arizona Green Party (AZGP) since 2004. I am the only gubernatorial candidate to be endorsed by the Arizona Green Party. My top 3 campaign issues are: 1) Strengthening our economy by organizing workers into the union of their choice, and creating community-based, worker-owned cooperatives. 2) Ensuring that corporations pay their "fair share" in taxes, so that we can fully-fund K-12 public education, and give our teachers and staff a much-needed pay raise. 3) Promoting Naturopathic Medicine, and other alternative modalities, as a way to lower health care costs, and improve health outcomes. Please write my name, ANGEL TORRES, on your Primary Election ballot, for Governor. For more information about my campaign, please visit my website: https://www.torresforarizona.com/. Thank you.

Mark Manoil believes that public service means to ethically work for Arizonans’ needs and expectations, and to honor the social compact embodied in our state’s constitution: the twin goals being a healthy environment for individuals to thrive and building a stronger community. He is a 30-year attorney born and raised in Phoenix, son of an Arizona first family and an Ellis Island immigrant, graduate of Stanford University and Arizona State University’s law school and business school (MBA), and descendant of a territorial treasurer. In private practice he has worked in banking, real estate, and property tax enforcement, writing a legal reference book on the last subject and co-chairing a blight-remediation committee for the City of Phoenix. He is committed to scandal-free, stable stewardship of the state’s finances and will advocate for sane fiscal policy that includes addressing the needs of our education community, consumer financial service alternatives, and opportunities for entrepreneurial innovators. To demonstrate that he is committed to the public interest and not special interests, he is running as a Clean Elections-funded candidate. MarkManoilforArizona.com

It’s an honor to serve the citizens of Arizona. In my first term of office I kept my campaign promise to repeal and replace the Common Core standards which were ruining education in Arizona. In addition, I implemented expansion in options for parental choice of their children’s school, brought broadband access to rural school districts, added services to our Native American students, and successfully advocated for expanded education funding for better teacher salaries. Test scores are now steadily increasing in Arizona as a result of these changes. Parents and their children remain my highest priority as I continue to fight for standards which result in a return to sensible, high quality educational instruction. Internally, I drained the bureaucratic swamp at the department, increasing quality of services to parents and schools while decreasing the number of staff and their salaries. I implemented current year funding, repaired the grants process, and focused more assets on school safety measures. I’ve also improved outcomes for English language learners and assistance to disconnected youth who have quit school and are unemployed. I ask for your continued support and for your vote in the election.

During that time, Jonathan managed the opening of 15 BASIS campuses which, as of fall 2017, will serve more than 8,000 Arizona kids. The high-profile failures of Diane Douglas to keep her campaign promises to get rid of Common Core, the infighting on the State Board of Education, the lawsuits - her general incompetence - led a number of concerned groups/individuals to ask me to run for State Superintendent. My record as a successful reformer on the Maricopa County Community College board and my status as the only actual teacher in the race, was attractive to those who want to clean up this failed bureaucracy, protect taxpayers, and put our teachers, families, and kids first. Since then, Ms. Douglas’ vulnerability has attracted three more challengers, each seeing an opportunity to gain or regain political office, but the fact is so many challengers only increases the odds of Ms. Douglas winning the primary, then losing the general to a liberal Democrat who opposes school choice, taxpayer accountability, and local control. I have spent 16 years as a K-12 teacher. I have a unique understanding of what needs to be done. I can keep this important office in Republican hands and protect school choice. I will actually end Common Core, and I will continue to stand tall on behalf of kids, parents, and teachers. www.tracylivingston.vote

I'm the only candidate with a proven record of executive, educational and legislative leadership, and the only candidate who's been an education leader at the local, state and federal level: (1) elected public school district member/president; (2) president of a statewide, accredited, online charter school; and (3) U.S. Congressman and Chairman of the House Education Subcommittee. I authored legislation on special education, career-technical education, and charter schools, and was recognized for my dedication to children with disabilities. The Heritage Foundation said, "Representative Riggs spearheaded many cutting-edge initiatives like school choice and charter schools." I'm a strong supporter of parental school choice and am proud to be endorsed by Mommy Lobby AZ. I'm a successful businessman, former CEO of a national, award-winning education nonprofit, and a teacher and coach. I'm also an Army veteran and former police officer who will work to make our schools safer. I graduated summa cum laude from Golden Gate University and received the prestigious "Associates Award" as the "Outstanding Graduate in the College of Business & Public Administration." My wife of 38 years, Cathy, and I have three grown, married children and five wonderful grandchildren, my personal motivation for running to lead our State's schools!

Arizona is the only state in the entire union that has a State Mine Inspector and for good reason - copper mining is one of the "Five Cs" that defined our history and built our economy. It is an integral part of our identity as Arizonans, and it's the reason why our State Flag has a copper star and our Capitol Building a copper dome. As a Native Arizonan who grew up in this rich tradition and who cut her teeth in a family business that works for Arizona's myriad copper mines, Kim Ruff recognizes the important role the State Mine Inspector plays in educating miners and their subcontractors on safety practices in order to prevent fatal accidents, hazardous errors, and unwanted invitations to the federal government to stick their nose in our business. To the State Who Shares Their Birthday with Valentine's Day, Kim Ruff Says, "Be Mine (Inspector)"

I’m an Eagle Scout, husband, father, attorney, and earned my PhD in Arid Land Resource Sciences (Water). I’m also a Conservative Republican, an elected GOP precinct committeeman, and I'm proud to serve as a Major in the United States Air Force JAG Corps Reserve. Throughout my private-sector career, from ice-skating rinks to homebuilding and waste management to finance, I’ve been a proponent of free markets and smaller government. Clean water and affordable power are key to Arizona’s economic future and my background in water and natural resource management uniquely qualify me for this office. I’m the only candidate with a plan to restore integrity to Arizona’s scandal-filled commission. I’ve proposed adoption of the Arizona Code of Judicial Conduct which is the exact same code of ethics adopted by the Arizona Supreme Court and followed by every judge in Arizona. I lead by example and that’s why I‘m not accepting campaign contributions from the regulated utilities or their lobbyists. Arizona’s regulators must put integrity first and protect ratepayers. As a conservative Republican I’m pro-life, pro-2nd Amendment, pro-secure borders, and as the only Veteran running for Corporation Commission I take my oath to defend our Constitution very seriously.

Jim brings a unique, needed skillset that is currently absent at the Arizona Corporation Commission. With 42 years of experience in finance, responsible for regulatory compliance, investment portfolio management, and enterprise leadership, Jim is the only candidate with that expertise. Jim advised the California State Senate on rewriting investment law, ensuring that the notorious Orange County bankruptcy would never happen again. As a Constitutional Conservative, Jim O'Connor will protect utility customers, crack down on financial crime, fight unsound regulations, restore public trust in the ACC, and — most importantly — uphold the Arizona State Constitution. When Jim is elected, he will serve only one term, and will not run for reelection. His hope is that his self-imposed term-limit will set a precedent for future commissioners. First elected to the House of Representatives in 2010 on a platform of smaller government, lower taxes, and more freedom, Olson exemplifies what it means to be a citizen legislator. Unlike the career politicians who often become out-of-touch with needs and concerns of their constituents, Olson has always held full-time employment in the private sector while serving his constituents as a lawmaker. Working in a demanding career as a tax analyst has kept Olson grounded in the day-to-day realities of earning a paycheck, putting food on the table and working within the laws that misguided politicians too often create. This perspective has led Olson to successfully advocate legislation to decrease the burden that government places on families, small businesses and individuals. Olson’s commitment to conservative principles has led nearly every conservative organization in Arizona to rate him as one of the very best of the state’s legislators. Those recognitions include “Champion of the Taxpayer” by American’s for Prosperity, an “A” rating by the National Rifle Association, and a “Champion of Small Business” by the National Federation of Independent Business. Justin is a lifelong resident of Mesa where he and his wife, Karyn, are currently raising their children.

Sandra Kennedy was elected in 2008 with more than a million votes to the Corporation Commission on a platform of promoting solar energy in Arizona, and as a fierce consumer advocate. In 2013, Kennedy made headlines when she was the first to sound the alarm about the growing culture of corruption at the Commission when she formally challenged Commission Chair Gary Pierce about APS helping run his son for Secretary of State. Sandra ran for Corporation Commission in 2014, and was narrowly defeated when millions of dollars in dark money ads were used to defeat her. Sandra started her public service when she was elected to the Arizona House of Representatives in November 1986, where she served for six years before successfully becoming a state senator in 1992. She served three terms as state senator. While she was serving in the legislature, Sandra was elected to serve on the Phoenix Union High School Governing Board for a four year term in 1990. Sandra is running to: • Lower utility rates • Stop the corruption at the Corporation Commission • Create more solar and renewable energy in Arizona, especially roof top solar See more at http://kennedyacc2018.com/ and https://www.facebook.com/KennedyACC2018/

As a former Corporation Commissioner (1999-2009) I intend to return integrity and transparency to the Commission. I will work hard to ensure the Commission provides affordable, reliable power to Arizonans, expand sources of renewable energy and protect consumers from unjustified rate increases. It is time to end the “culture of corruption” so evident on the current Commission. No matter which political party you belong to, you should be concerned about recent decisions to unjustly raise rates on APS customers, EPCOR customers and Johnson Utility customers when these companies are all making record profits. When I served on the Commission ten years ago Commissioners from both parties were committed to providing safe, cost-effective utility service to rate-payers through an open and transparent process. Arizona should be the solar capital of the world. When I served as Commission Chair we made Arizona one of the first states to require utilities to generate a percentage of their electricity from renewable sources. It is time to let the light shine once again on the important role Arizona’s Corporation Commission plays in the lives of Arizonans. I am asking for your support and your vote.

Kiana Sears is a community advocate, engaged ASU Sun Devil, nonprofit community leader, and an Arizona seasoned public policy professional. Her commitment to service is inspired by her father, a Vietnam veteran, and her mother, a dedicated civil servant in municipal water services for many years. Sears loves the beautiful State of Arizona and believes we must pay special attention to three key aspects for our state to flourish: water, solar and the education of all Arizona’s children, irrespective of ethnicity. For nearly a decade Sears has worked in a legislative staff capacity, most recently serving as a Water & Wastewater Executive Consultant (Public Utility Analyst) for the Arizona Corporation Commission (AZCC). During her tenure at the AZCC, Kiana greatly appreciated the opportunity to serve and protect Arizona rate payers. Sears understands that the rate payers are families and small business owners that deserve the opportunity to thrive. Protecting our water supply, water rights, as well as our access to solar power and renewables are among her highest priorities. Please support Sears as she promises to serve with integrity and to work hard every day to restore the public’s trust in this critical branch of Arizona’s democracy.
