Candidate Info
Kathy Knecht is a tried and true public servant and community leader. As an independent, she is committed to answering to the people and not to special interest groups that push bad policy with big money. Kathy wants an Arizona we can all be proud of. She cares about supporting teachers and the public schools that serve the majority of kids in Arizona. She truly respects local control and believes that the state should get out of the way of our schools, cities and towns and let locally-elected leaders we elect lead. She believes that the Arizona Constitution should be respected and upheld. And she wants to end the partisan nonsense that leads to extreme, embarrassing and expensive legislation in Arizona.

Candidate Info
As an independent, with a clean slate and no political baggage, I will take positions that may not fit either party's ideological framework, but make sense for Arizona. I will pursue legislation that puts the public interest above all others. I will seek solutions that are informed by data as well as traditions. My father was a Republican and my mother a Democrat. I grew up hearing opposing opinions, respecting each, and thinking about alternatives that would satisfy both. I’m running for public office because Arizona needs someone who can be a catalyst for bi-partisan solutions that will last. My core beliefs are: • Put the public interest ahead of any partisan and special interests • Use common sense and find common ground to solve problems • Promote opportunity, equality, and stewardship • Champion competition, transparency, and accountability As your legislator, my primary focus will be to produce a budget that prioritizes education, healthcare, and public safety, putting these core legislative responsibilities on a stable financial footing. Please see my Legislative Bucket List at www.voteleone.org for greater detail. We have it in our power to begin the world over again - Thomas Paine
