Candidate Info
Kathy Knecht is a tried and true public servant and community leader. As an independent, she is committed to answering to the people and not to special interest groups that push bad policy with big money. Kathy wants an Arizona we can all be proud of. She cares about supporting teachers and the public schools that serve the majority of kids in Arizona. She truly respects local control and believes that the state should get out of the way of our schools, cities and towns and let locally-elected leaders we elect lead. She believes that the Arizona Constitution should be respected and upheld. And she wants to end the partisan nonsense that leads to extreme, embarrassing and expensive legislation in Arizona.

PUT COMMON SENSE BACK ON THE TABLE Ideology is a fine starting point for government legislation, but it can never be an endpoint. Yet, that has been the goal of both major parties for almost two decades. As a result, we've ended up with legislation that is piecemeal or worse. Independents can change that. Because we're not bound by any party's ideology, we can integrate the best ideas from all parties when crafting legislation. It’s not a foreign idea. Whether we're choosing employment benefits, putting an investment portfolio together, or just making a fruit salad, Americans intuitively combine elements to maximize taste, ROI, and advantage. Arizonans don't need another party or ideology to effect change. We only need to elect Independents. I've been an Independent since 1994. I have two master's degrees, one in Business and one in Communications. I had a successful career with H.R. Block and worked for nearly two years at the Arizona House of Representatives. I come with a clean slate and a passion for good government. Put common sense back on the table and elect me to be your next State Senator.

I am a first-time legislative candidate who hopes to make a positive difference if I win election. I want to get involved to do things to help the community and I will be accountable to the people of this district. We need common sense solutions to these complex problems. Voters are tired of the continued Bipartisan gridlock and broken promises. I love our country and the amazing opportunities that it provides for our diverse and growing population. I will listen to the electorate and give an opinion and we can decide together the direction that we want and need.
