Statement:
Patrick Harris, Sr. is an innovator, strategist, and champion of economic reform. Born into a military family, Patrick spent his early years living abroad. His rise from high-school dropout to MBA and from minimum-wage to a President and CEO showcases his belief that anyone can achieve success with the right opportunities and mindset.
Patrick has filed 43 patents, oversaw over a billion dollars in annual revenue, and led projects at multi-billion-dollar organizations. He even played a key role in drafting a U.S. House of Representatives bill aimed at combating the opioid epidemic.
On a personal level, Patrick’s role as a divorced single father to six children (two biological and four adopted) underscores his deep empathy for everyday families and those confronting systemic barriers. His struggles with homelessness, education, and workplace challenges forged a commitment to fairness in every sense, from the boardroom to the living room.
Patrick’s decision to enter politics is born from firsthand observation that extreme wealth hoarding stifles the very innovation capitalism promises. Having spent his career aligning stakeholders, building consensus, and translating ambitious ideas into meaningful reforms, he will fight to restore the American Dream.

Statement:
Daniel Hernandez is running for Congress to fight for the progressive values that Southern Arizona families depend on—our rights, our livelihoods, and our democracy.
For Daniel, public service isn’t a choice—it’s a calling. Born and raised in Tucson, Daniel’s mother immigrated from Mexico in search of a better future. His dad worked in construction and volunteered in the community, teaching him the value of hard work and giving back.
At his core, Daniel knows how life-changing access to healthcare can be. As a teenager, he became severely ill without access to healthcare and almost died. It was the healthcare provided by Medicaid and the State Children’s Health Insurance Program that saved his life. That first-hand experience with healthcare inspired him to do research and help patients.
Daniel worked through college at the University of Arizona, in a cancer research lab, then as a phlebotomist, and finally as a nursing assistant. He learned skills that gave him the preparation to help provide critical first aid to Congresswoman Gabby Giffords on that terrible day of January 8th, 2011.

Statement:
Ecological overshoot threatens the sustainability of life on Earth. Since about 1970, the ecological impact from human overpopulation and over-consumption has exceeded the regenerative capacity of the Earth's biosphere. Homo sapiens are one out of millions of species. Human civilization has fundamentally altered the Earth's ecosystem. Plastic now outweighs all animal biomass on Earth. About 96% of Earth's biomass of wildlife mammal species has been displaced by people and livestock. Wildlife vertebrate biomass has decreased by about 73% since 1970.
An industrialized human civilization of eight billion people is unsustainable, regardless of how wealth is distributed. Everything we do has impact on the environment. From an environmental perspective, ecological overshoot results from human overpopulation and over-consumption. Too many people consuming and polluting too much. Numbers of people multiplied by per capita ecological footprints.
In 1804, there were one billion people on Earth. Now there are eight billion. Ecological footprints have grown astronomically. The Living Planet Report environmental sustainability study estimated that if the average person on Earth had as much ecological impact as the average person in the United States does now, the Earth could not sustain a human population of more than one and a half billion people.

Statement:
Trump's chaotic second term has failed the nation in myriad ways, but in the 200 words alloted here, I will just concentrate on the administration's favoritism toward billionaires, erosion of civil liberties, and its mismanagement of the economy.
By appointing affluent individuals like Elon Musk to high-ranking positions, Trump has prioritized the interests of the super-wealthy over working-class Americans. This is evident in the reduction of funding for regulatory agencies overseeing Musk's enterprises and the proposal of government investment funds potentially benefiting Musk's allies.
The administration's disregard for civil liberties is alarming. Actions such as the deportation of alleged Venezuelan gang members to El Salvador, bypassing due process, mirror tactics of authoritarian regimes. Trump's centralization of power, coupled with the circumvention of congressional and judicial oversight, poses significant threats to democratic principles.
Economically, Trump's obsession with tariffs and unpredictable policies has led to inflation, recession risks, and stock market instability, adversely affecting ordinary Americans. The administration's dismissal of key officials and appointment of conspiracy theorists further destabilizes governance.
In summary, the administration's alignment with elite interests, undermining of civil liberties, and reckless economic policies contradict the needs of the broader populace, threatening the foundations of democracy and economic stability.
