Ruben Gallego is the son of an immigrant mother from Colombia and an immigrant father from Mexico. He was raised in Chicago by his mother along with his three sisters and worked for most of his young adult life, including summer jobs at a hot dog joint and a meat packing plant. After high school, Ruben went to Harvard where he cleaned other students’ bathrooms, worked at a meat packing plant and was a reservist during college to afford school. He later used his money saved while fighting in Iraq to pay off the $15,000 he had left in debt. Ruben deployed to Iraq as a United States Marine Infantryman in 2005 where his company saw some of the worst fighting and the heaviest casualties of the Iraq War, losing 22 Marines and a Navy Corpsman in eight months. His military service led to him seeking public office. Ruben resigned from the State House in order to run for Congress in 2014 where he won a five-way primary with nearly half the vote. He has been elected several times since and is running for the United States Senate. Ruben lives in Phoenix with his wife Sydney and son Michael.

I am running for US Senate because I feel compelled to act to stop the genocide in Gaza and respond to threats of nuclear war and climate crisis brought by wars for empire carried out by the Democrats and Republicans. People are suffering from evictions, hunger, lack of affordable health care, staggering student loans, high rents and food prices, pollution of water, air. I am a third-generation Arizona native, born and raised in the east valley, graduated from the University of Arizona with a Bachelor’s in Nuclear Engineering, minor in Direct Energy Conversion. I have lived and worked in Chandler since 2007, serving our community in various roles, including serving on the Chandler City Council January 2015 to January 2023. I am also a third-generation U.S. Navy Veteran, serving as a Naval Officer aboard submarines, honorably separating from the Navy in 2000 as a Lieutenant with over four years of service. Lydia Hernandez is the daughter of migrant farmworkers, born in South Texas. Her resilient path began at a young age as a migrant coupled with her parents' insistence on the importance of education are the key components that created Lydia’s hunger for knowledge. She is a graduate of Baylor University. In Arizona, (1993), she grew into a leadership role with Valley Interfaith Project as a grassroots leader, organizing public actions. I am a proud, third generation Arizonan who is fed up with the status quo. Over the last few years, it has become apparent to me that the people in control of our government do not have the citizens' best interests at heart. I intend to help change that. I am a politically active concerned citizen of our community who wants to make sure the government is kept in check and our freedom is represented. I will do my best to return Arizona to it's people, by eliminating all unnecessary regulations and restrictions that impede the rights and abilities for people to prosper for themselves. I’m a lifelong conservative Republican who has spent years on the front lines. That’s why I was asked to run and why I’m eager to work with other Legislators to meet Arizona’s challenges. Start with obvious stuff like fighting illegal immigration, improving our economy, and trying to bring down high inflation rates, prices on gas and food, and housing costs. We need to continue cleaning up our election process so that every voter can trust the results, no matter who wins. We need to protect school choice from liberal efforts to shut down Arizona's amazing charter schools and ESAs. We need to support our law enforcement and fight the scourge of fentanyl that is killing hundreds of thousands of Americans each year. Then we get into other critical issues like health care, infrastructure, long term water planning, agriculture, looking after our veterans, and an abundant energy supply. I'm running for the Arizona House of Representatives in Legislative District 28. In my first 2-year term, I stand by a conservative voting record, sponsoring and supporting legislation to improve accountability in educational spending and academic standards, promoting school choice and parental rights, defending the sanctity of life, vigorously fighting against governmental overreach and mandates, and strengthening Second Amendment and religious freedoms guaranteed by our Constitution. Fiscally, I believe economic growth is achieved through lower taxation and regulatory reform, and that election integrity and government transparency are essential to restore trust. I’ve been married 34 years, and my husband and I are blessed with two beautiful daughters. We’ve lived in Arizona for 18 years and our children attended elementary and high school in Peoria. I received my B.S. in Biological Sciences from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan and currently hold an American Society for Clinical Pathology Cytogenetics Certification. I work at Grand Canyon University as a Science Program Coordinator, and I've also worked as a cytogenetics technologist at St. Joseph's Hospital's Molecular Medicine Laboratory, performing cancer biopsy genetic and infectious diseases testing. Enlisted in the U.S. Navy 1977. Commissioned an Ensign 1978. Completed flight training 1979 earned my wings as a Naval Flight Officer and retired as a Commander 1999. Qualified Electronic Warfare Officer, flew on over 150 reconnaissance missions. Electronic Warfare Director Atlantic Defense Analysis Center. In the Naval Reserves served as Commanding Officer of a Naval reserve unit. Completed 3 six-month deployments to the Middle East as the Naval Reconnaissance Liaison. My wife, Theresa, and I have been married for 44 years and have 2 adult children and 3 grandchildren. After retiring from the Navy Theresa and I moved to Arizona where I continued my service to the people and community as a high school science teacher for over ten years. I am running to secure our Democracy, secure the right of every woman to make their own decisions about their health without harassment or legal obstacles, and to bring needed leadership for all people in our district, state, and country. Leo Biasiucci was born and raised in Lake Havasu City, Arizona and has been an Arizona resident for over 30 years. After receiving his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Management from The University of Arizona, Leo came back to Lake Havasu to help run the family business. In 2016, Leo decided that he was ready to give back to his community. He became an active member of The Lake Havasu Men’s Republican Club, The Conservative Republican Club, The Kingman Republican Forum, and he is also an appointed Republican PC.
